Ironically, as the webmistress of a music site, I’ve actually never
been to a non-classical concert until last Sunday. It could not have been better. Turns out my favorite radio station hosted a free summer outdoor concert right in San Francisco. My friends and I headed there about 2 hours early to grab a good seat.
We even got to watch some of the performers rehearse! Only when you’ve gone to one of these concerts, do you realize how talented some of these American artists are. Not only do they write their own songs, play several instruments, but they do a hell of a great performance. It’s not about the dance, not about the dress (most of these singers were dressed in rather plain T-shirts and sweaters). It’s really about the tunes. And they sound AWESOME live.
Full list of performers…
- Secondhand Serenade (see above)
- Marie Digby
- The Last Goodnight (see bottom)
- Ingrid Michaelson
- Lifehouse (see the first picture up top)
Oh, and my friend and I got to take a picture with the lead singer of The Last Goodnight. They have so much potential!
